If you venture deep into the Abruzzo countryside, you’ll find a village called Nereto—a little nugget of history. Nereto is known for many things: its cuisine, its proximity to the ocean, and, yes, its denim. For over a century, Imatex has been woven into the fabric of Nereto’s denim legacy. Founded in 1923 by the Annunzi family with just a few handlooms, Imatex has grown to operate 43 state-of-the-art weaving machines. They produce fabric for some of the most important fashion houses in Europe, but they are far from an ordinary denim supplier. At Imatex, research and purchasing go hand-in-hand.
