About 2UP2DOWN
Less than an hour outside of Bangalore, a woman named Namrata is pioneering one of the last natural dyeing facilities in the region. Namrata has worked for years to re-skill a cohort of women from the villages surrounding her family farm. Using the highest quality natural ingredients, the women of 2UP2DOWN can match almost any pantone color. They are on a mission to produce the highest quality dye at net zero carbon emissions. They are specifically experts in shibori tie-dyeing, a Japanese technique similar to Indonesian Batik dyeing. Shibori requires excruciating detail in tieing individual knots. Textiles are transformed into dynamic sculptures before they are dipped, died, untied, and dried. Once the process is done, the product can be cut-and-sewn or embroidered on by any of 2UP2DOWN's partners, or a partner of your own.
